Building Immunity

Given the climate changes that are occurring, you can expect Spring to sprout lots of mold, bacteria, virus, and fungus if you live in the north east part of the US. This winter has been unusually warm and although people have enjoyed it, there’s going to be a down side. Without the constant freezing temperatures needed to kill the multitude of micro-organisms that exist, these single celled buggers are going to grow out of control and wreak havoc on your immune system this Spring.

What can you do to prepare?

Start building your immunity now. There are many ways in which to build your immune system. A few days of physical detoxification using herbs, vitamins, chlorophyll and raw foods is probably the best and quickest way to accomplish the task.

Below is a detoxification program that I use and have modified to fit the needs my clients. It is taken from Jethro Kloss’s Back to Eden.

In addition to the detox program, I would recommend lots of antioxidents in the form of tea, powders or tablets. Herbs to clean the liver would include, dandelion, burdock root and Oregon grape. For the kidneys I suggest Juniper berries and lots of unsweetened cranberry juice (real cranberry juice is very tart). The blood would benefit from Red Clover herb as well as chlorophyll or spirulina in the form of liquid or tablets.

Raw garlic, crushed with a dollop of honey will kill just about anything in its path and build a strong immune system. Okay…so your loved one won’t want to kiss you for a while, but they will get over it and perhaps join your ambitious quest for good health.

Here’s to your health!

The purpose of this cleanse is to feed the body with only whole, organic foods that are loaded with vitamins and minerals. The foods during this cleanse should be organically grown as they have not been chemically treated. This feeding process will eliminate toxins from the body and purify the blood. Some side effects may occur such as headache, aches and pains in areas that are in need of much cleansing, constipation (if this occurs use more prune juice or Swiss Kriss senna laxative. This cleanse is most effective when there is time to relax, meditate and aid the body in its cleansing process. A regular work schedule is fine to do this cleanse, however, a hectic schedule with sports events or travel is not a good time.

You may use apple cider vinegar, lemon, lime, sea salt or veggi salt, braggs liquid aminos and very small amounts of olive oil. Green and herbal teas are recommended.

After successfully cleansing, you will feel lighter, happier, lose a few pounds, and be healthier. It’s important to continue eating whole foods after this process in order to keep the body at its optimum.
